macau
so.. my visa expired, and i needed to get out of the country and come back to renew it and get another 90 days. the other times, i happened to be going on a trip before it expired (bali, thailand, bali again...).
the nearest country is china, obviously... but instead of having to pay for a china visa and head to shenzhen, china, i went to macau! it's a china special administrative region (SAR), like HK. i was able to get visa on arrival, and the ferry was pretty cheap.
(ok sorry, that was really boring...)
macau is gorgeous, and the air is cleaner. there's a huge portugese influence, so the architecture is beautiful, and there are cobblestone streets. it is also full of casinos and hotels, and is actually bigger than vegas!
