silly westerners and their weird holidays...

so... apparently, halloween in hong kong is just as popular as in the states. there's this whole section of bars that have halloween parties! the streets are all blocked off so no traffic can go through.. and the local chinese actually stand behind the barriers to look in at the westerners in costumes, all getting drunk! it's strange, but i can't wait to join in!

here are my costume ideas:

aww.. i have no idea what this is, but look how adorable it is!

yeah, little asian zombie ghosts... i'm liking the girl in the middle with the pink cheeks and the pigtails. but, i dont think i'll look too different from other people here trying to be zombie ghosts... i already am asian

meowoof!

these last two are more what i'm thinking, depending if i can find cheap peacock feathers...

  1. Peacock! What a fabulous idea. They have cheap ones in China Town. Does Hong Kong have China Town? ;-]

  2. i got 4 feathers for 10hkd - about 1.30usd. good, huh!
there are parts of hong kong that are more "local"
a lot of it is modernized or colonial. the "local" places are very chinese and old school. there are markets that have everything you could ever imagine - food, clothes, fake designer stuff, electronics, toys, crafts, everything!
